Silver table bell, missing clapper. Had decoration on the crown, base of neck and lip. There are initials engraved into the body of the bell: FHP. Table bell: Silver bells were introduced about the time of Queen Anne, and later accompanied inkstands as the center ornament. They are rare. Object was found in the Clinton Room on the main table in 2011. When the room was inventoried in the spring of 2014, the bell was accessioned as an "x" file, as no previous meniton of the bell was discovered. |
