Candle lantern with classic slat and dot piercings on the cylinder, door, and top. Made from oxidized sheet metal and missing the candle holder inside, but remnants of it are visible. |
Historical context |
Metal "Paul Revere" pierced lantern. This type of inexpensive and durable lantern was prevalent in the 1800s. However, there is no proof that silversmith Paul Revere actually produced them. |
