Physical description |
George and Martha Washington, at center, outside of log cabin huts at Valley Forge. Snow is on the ground and rooftops. Windy since snow is being blown around from the gorund (bottom right.) On the left is a young Black boy holding a basket in his arm and a man and woman looking at one another. On the right are two soldiers, on is standing at attention, while the other is holding his weapon up infront of him. The soldier with the weapon has large holes in his boots, exposing his toes. The soldier standing at attention has cloth wrapped around his feet and calves, possibly ontop of his very worn boots. There is a tree stump on the bottom left with twings sticking up around it. In the background, an American flag is flying and more barracks are visible. |
