Souvenir spoon. Scene inside bowl of spoon: A cracked Liberty Bell, Latin inscription: "EXEGI MONUMENTUM AERE PERENNIUS", meaning "I have erected a monument more lasting than bronze" (Horace). On handle: along the throat of the stem is "1775- Sons of the Revolution" and at the top of the handle is an eagle and patriot. While on the back of the handle is stars along the throat of the stem and at the top is a profile portrait with 1776-1883 underneath. At the top of the bowl is label "Sterling". |
