Eustis/ 30 April" "Colonel Burbeck/ Washington" [Written over the address in red ink, in different hand than the letter]"150 barrels of powder are orderd from Philad.a[?] - the shot you may attend to/ yourself. so says the Secretary,/ The want Mr. Hughes proposals fo shot,/ Has Col. B got them--/ If you want any contracts of services/ return, of shot.--86, tell me s. & I will,/ make it out with pleasure. I.J.A." "Boston April 30, 1812/ D.r Sir---/ You will perceive by the enclos'd/ that author.z[?] must be [illeg.] to the Store/ Keeper to [illeg.] powder + one of the forges.[?]/ our forge[?] is nearly completed, and it/ is some time since I wrote to Springfield to/ have one sent a place to order one hund.d/ + fifty barells[sic] of powder. This first leg is/ shortest coming over I have also written for/ 24 pound shot but Col.l Porter thinks there/ is none there, we are doing pretty well here/ but I have no author.z for horses or waggons[sic], excap-/ tured[?] waggons complete Ingag'd[sic] for A Eustis's comy./ I am with Esteem D.
